2014 Sauvignon Blanc
Lip-smacking acidity to accentuate the crisp lemon, key lime pie and ruby grapefruit flavors at its core and a refreshing finish.
The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc hails from a historic vineyard in St. Helena, California, in the heart of the Napa Valley. Planted in 1984, this vineyard has helped make some the best Sauvignon Blancs over the last 30 years. I am proud we are able to bring this wine to Minnesota now. 2014 was a very dry and warm year in the Napa Valley and this fruit was picked the last week of August at the height of ripeness. We inoculated the juice after three days and allowed it to ferment for almost a month at 50 °F. After fermentation, the wine was racked off its primary lees and aged in tank for almost five months prior to bottling.
The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc offers lip-smacking acidity to accentuate the crisp lemon, key lime pie and ruby grapefruit flavors at its core. The mid palate is smooth and refreshing, accented by floral and honeysuckle details. It has a crisp backbone of acidity, but is not overly tart, and a lingering pleasant and complex finish.
