RETIRED

2014 Creekside White

The classic German combination of spice and oiliness you would expect from some of the great Alsatian wines.

The 2014 Creekside White does its best imitation of a great German White Wine. Some of the great food wines in the world come from the French/German border area Alsace. Josie and I had a tough time putting this blend together and maybe that struggle pushed us to make an extraordinary wine.

The grapes come from both California and Washington. The Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay are from California, while the Riesling is from Washington. The 2 hardest parts of putting this wine together were tempering the super high acid of the Riesling with the green, herbal notes of the Gewürztraminer. The trick we found was adding a small amount of Chardonnay to the blend. The fresh aromas of apples and much lower acid rounded it out and made the blend sing!

The 2014 Creekside White has the classic German combination of spice and oiliness you would expect from some of the great Alsatian wines. The richer and riper character of this wine means that it can easily stand up to and compliment a wide variety of food pairings. I immediately crave Asian cuisine like Shrimp Pad Thai or fresh Ahi Tuna. Our Thai Chicken Pizza is absolutely perfect with this wine!
