2013 Marquette Rosé
Tasting note written by Arlen and Maria Madsen
The fruit for this Marquette Rosé was sourced from one vineyard about 30 minutes south of the winery. Farming to the highest standard, Mother Nature helped make this a near perfect vintage. A long dry summer allowed the fruit to ripen to full maturity.
Once the fruit arrived at the winery, the Marquette was sent directly to press. A three week fermentation in barrel allowed for delicate nuances to be achieved. After almost six months in barrel, the Marquette was cold stabilized and filtered prior to bottling.
The 2013 Marquette Rosé has a beautiful hue of freshly pressed raspberry juice. The nose expresses the essence of red fruit mixed with a hint of summer breeze and just a splash of fresh juniper. The mid palate coats your tongue with a lush, velvety layer. A touch of tart dark cherries followed with a complex combination of refined acidity and balanced fruit lead to a long, refreshing finish.
