2015 Kasota Rose
Flavors and aromas of chilled strawberries and peaches with hints of orange and maraschino cherries. On the finish, there are notes of cotton candy, vanilla, and red licorice.
This is the fifth year we have been making the Kasota Rose, and it continues to be one of most popular offerings. It is very fruity and slightly sweet, and served chilled it is simply a fun wine to drink; juicy, fresh, crisp and bright. Made from Minnesota-grown grapes, the wine is a blend of Frontenac Gris and Frontenac.
The easiest way to describe this wine is a Strawberry Jolly Rancher candy in a glass. Flavors and aromas of chilled strawberries and peaches with hints of orange and maraschino cherries. On the finish, there are notes of cotton candy, vanilla, and red licorice.
Served by itself it is a wonderful sipper, but it also can be paired with delicate soft cheeses, mellow and creamy blue cheeses, fruit and nut crepes and salads. Fruit accented fish and fowl recipes will also work well; chicken with apricots, or salmon and cranberries come to mind.
