2014 Creekside Red
The 2014 Creekside Red is our best-selling red wine at Chankaska and it’s easy to see why. We combine the best of California and Minnesota to make an easy to drink, everyday Red Wine. As you know, we can’t grow Cab, Merlot, Petite Sirah because it is too cold for those vines to survive.
So, I go to the Napa Valley every year to source the best fruit for the blend. The 2014 Creekside Red is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Marquette, Pinot Noir, Frontenac, and Frontenac Gris. A true kitchen sink blend! The lots were fermented and aged separately until just prior to bottling in August of 2015. The lots were blended and filtered before going into the bottle. It is a wine that tastes great right out of the bottle but will continue to age for another 3 to 5 years.
This rich wine shows obvious notes of dark fruit with subtle oak tannins. Fresh acidity keeps the wine dancing on your tongue. A perfect accompany to any of our wonderful pizzas or all by itself! Enjoy!
