2011 Cabernet Sauvignon
The majority of the fruit used in making this wine came from the Napa Valley, blended with a small amount of Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon from California’s Sierra Foothills area.
Aromas of dark black cherries and cassis predominate, with suggestions of cocoa, coffee, licorice and sweet brown spices. In the mouth the wine is well structured with light chalky tannins that will gain smoothness and complexity while continuing to age in the bottle. Minnesota-grown oak barrels were used to age this wine. Their tight grain structure, more “restrained” flavor and aroma profile than other American oak regions make Minnesota oak barrels the perfect choice.
