Sangiovese is made famous in the region of Tuscany in Italy. If you’ve ever had a Chianti then you have drunk Sangiovese. The grapes for this wine were sourced from the heart of California’s Wine Country.
The wine exhibits fruity blackberry and ripe strawberry jam with a hint of black pepper on the nose. On the palate, the blackberry notes are carried through, along with tart pomegranate and rhubarb. Suggestions of black tea linger on the finish. The wine will continue to soften and gain complexity in the bottle with expected peak drinking window of 2018 to 2021.
Pair with milk or dark chocolate or be adventurous and pair it with Smoked Sockeye Salmon
