The 2012 “Creekside White” is similar but not entirely the same as our 2011 version. This year we decided to expand the blend’s complexity by adding the white Rhone grape Viognier (“vee-own-yay”), a highly aromatic and delicious white grape we sourced from California. The Riesling and Chardonnay came from Washington State, and a bit of Le Crescent and Brianna from Minnesota round-out the mix.
Though considered a light and refreshing “sipping” wine, the vintage of 2012 was excellent, and this version exhibit more defined flavors, intensity and richness than the previous year. Aromas of lemon, orange and pineapple predominate with secondary notes of melon, honey, honeysuckle flower and fennel. The richer and riper character of this wine means that it can easily stand up to and compliment a wide variety of food pairings; Roast chicken, fish and shellfish, composed salads and cream-based soups.
